The
Social Justice Center
is a student-run organization that promotes awareness and understanding
of social justice and diversity issues by providing education,
facilitations, and resources.
The Center
is a resource library and a meeting area located on the Washington
University Campus. It serves to centralize the efforts within
the WU community to combat prejudice and promote social justice.
The SJC represents a combined effort and a combined vision by
WU administrators, faculty, and students. The primary goal of
the Center is to educate members of the community about the need
for progress with social issues and about the opportunities we
have to make a positive impact in the world.
Functionally speaking, the Center
provides monthly programs open to the community, revolving around
issues of social justice. It also serves as a place to advertise
social justice related programming; a location that provides educational,
activist, and community service resources; and a central meeting
place for campus organizations that work toward attaining social
justice.
Weekly meetings take place
at 8 p.m. in our Center--please join us to learn more about us! |
